A solar-powered GPU facility on an uninhabited island in the Indian Ocean. Built for AI training, inference and operator AI workloads, cooled without freshwater, and connected to the global subsea cable network. First phase 1 MW, designed to grow to 5 MW.
AI capacity where the sun is strong, the cables land, and the water stays in the ocean.
Design targets for the first phase. Final figures will be confirmed at launch.
We secure the whole island up front and build on it in phases, so growth never needs a new site. We do not clear-cut the island: solar goes on open ground and onto the lagoon, and at least half of the island stays green in every phase. Press a phase to see what is built and how much compute it adds. The layout is a schematic and not to scale.
Compute is peak theoretical FP4 dense throughput of the NVIDIA HGX B300 reference configuration (108 PFLOPS per 8-GPU server, 288 GB of memory per GPU); the final platform will be confirmed before launch. Areas are an indicative layout for planning and will be fixed after the site survey and environmental assessment.
Most island sites burn imported fuel for every kilowatt-hour. This one is designed the other way round: solar first, storage for the night, and diesel only as insurance.
About 8 MWp of solar and a 22 MWh battery carry the site around the clock. Diesel generators stay in reserve for cloudy spells.
Direct liquid cooling and dry coolers mean no evaporative towers and no freshwater drawn from a small island's supply.
Server waste heat can drive a desalination unit. Space is reserved for it, turning a by-product into extra fresh water.
A 100 kW tidal-kite pilot and, in the growth phase, floating solar in the lagoon. Both subject to measurements and environmental assessment.
Figures are design estimates for the first phase and will be confirmed at launch.
We do not clear-cut for solar. Panels go on open ground and onto the lagoon, existing trees are kept, and at least half of the island remains natural vegetation in every phase. We are in favor of green energy, and the island is where we prove it.
The Maldives is among the world's most climate-exposed countries and has built its economy around protecting its islands, reefs and waters. A green data center fits that story, and the legal framework is now in place for projects like this.
The Uninhabited Islands and Lagoons Act, in force since October 2026, sets long-term leases of 21 years, extendable up to 50, to Maldives-registered companies. Clear terms for long-lived infrastructure.
The Maldives has a special economic zone regime for large strategic projects, with tax and customs incentives for those that qualify. Our growth phase is designed with that threshold in mind.
The country has set targets to expand renewable energy and cut its dependence on imported fuel. Our design supports that direction instead of working against it.
The Maldives sits between the Gulf, India, East Africa and Southeast Asia, on the route where Europe's and Asia's subsea cables meet. The time zone is UTC+5.
MOU signed. Data Labs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Maldives AI data center project. Detailed plans will be shaped over the next two months — with site & infrastructure works first in the queue, followed by phased deployment of liquid-cooled compute.

One working day overlaps with teams across all five regions, which keeps support and operations in the same hours as your users.
Several international subsea systems come ashore in the Maldives. We build within reach of a landing station and connect the island with a short fiber link.
Security is layered: physical, network, data and legal. Each layer is designed to be checked by your own security team.
An island perimeter with controlled access by sea and air, single-tenant halls and a site that is not shared with neighbours.
A dedicated fiber link to a cable landing station, with routes that can use more than one international system.
Dedicated hardware, encryption keys held by the client, and no telemetry sent out by default. Every administrator action is logged.
A Maldives-registered operator with a transparent ownership chain, and contracts that state who is responsible for what.
End-user screening in line with applicable export-control rules, so your supply chain and your neighbours are known.
A data center in a city is surrounded by public roads, shared buildings and neighbours. A dedicated island reduces the number of people who can physically get near the hardware to the people who are supposed to be there.
It also keeps a second, independent copy of your capacity far from the hubs where most AI compute is concentrated today.
We will publish the security architecture and independent audit results as they are completed.
Where a data center sits decides who can reach it, who can regulate it and what happens when relations between countries change. The Maldives offers practical advantages on each point.
A small island nation that works with partners across the Gulf, South Asia, East Asia and the West. Customers from different regions can use the same site without choosing a side.
The Maldives is in Country Group B under US export rules, so advanced AI hardware does not need a country-level license. Customer and end-user screening still applies.
A site outside the crowded AI hubs and cable corridors gives you a second region for capacity and a different risk profile from your main sites.
The Indian Ocean lies on the main shipping and cable routes between Europe, Africa and Asia. The island sits at the center of that corridor.
Regulatory statements are general information, not legal advice. Customers should confirm their own compliance position.
Early registrants are contacted first about timelines and availability.
GPU capacity for training, fine-tuning and inference on the latest NVIDIA Blackwell-class hardware, on demand or reserved.
Sovereign-grade capacity for operator AI, including AI agents built on Noosphere, close to the region's subscribers.
Dedicated space and managed AI hosting for organizations that need clear ownership, clear location and clear compliance.
A path from a first experiment to a reserved cluster, without building your own facility.
About 8 MWp of solar and a 22 MWh battery carry the site around the clock. Diesel generators stand by for rare cloudy spells and are not the main source.
Direct liquid cooling runs on 45°C water, so air-cooled dry coolers are enough all year. No chillers, no evaporative towers, no freshwater used for heat rejection.
A small reverse-osmosis plant covers site needs. Space is reserved for a unit that turns server waste heat into additional fresh water.
Server halls, batteries and switchgear sit on raised platforms 2–3 m above ground. We do not dig basements, which protects the island's freshwater lens.
A 100 kW tidal-kite pilot, subject to current measurements, and floating solar in the lagoon in the growth phase, subject to environmental assessment.
Final prices are announced at launch. Our pricing goal is set out right below.
Hourly GPU capacity for experiments, fine-tuning and bursts of inference.
Dedicated capacity for a fixed term, for teams with steady, planned workloads.
Your own hardware in a liquid-cooled hall, with power, cooling and connectivity included.
Ready-to-run agent workstations for telecom roles, powered by Noosphere.
Final prices are announced at launch. Our goal is clear: GPU capacity priced below the on-demand list prices of the major GPU clouds, and competitive with their long-term contract rates. AI agents are priced by the work they do, and designed to cost less than the manual work they replace.
An environmental impact assessment is completed before construction, and the regulator is involved from the start.
No clear-cutting for solar. At least half of the island stays natural vegetation in every phase, trees are kept where possible, and we plant native species.
Moorings and anchoring are planned to avoid damage to corals. Fuel storage is bunded and has a spill plan.
Two design choices that remove the biggest risks to a small island's water.
Dates will be published as approvals are confirmed.
